2. The Principle of Correspondence: "As above, so below; as below, so above." This principle suggests that there is a harmony, agreement, and correspondence between the physical, mental, and spiritual realms. Understanding one level of reality gives insight into the others.

3. The Principle of Vibration: Nothing is at rest; everything vibrates. This principle states that everything in the universe is in constant motion, manifesting at various frequencies. Differences between manifestations are the result of different vibrations.

4. The Principle of Polarity: Everything has its opposite: hot and cold, light and dark, good and evil, etc. These opposites are really just varying degrees of the same thing. The Hermetic adept understands the art of balancing these polarities, not eliminating one in favor of the other.

5. The Principle of Rhythm: The pendulum swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left. This principle asserts that there is a natural ebb and flow, a rise and fall, a cycle and pattern in all phenomena.
